Bird in Flight

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  It is very hot here in New England and I'm wishing for Fall.  That's what inspired the colors for my card today.

I began by sponging Orange, Yellow and Green distress inks onto watercolor paper.  I misted the paper with water to blend the inks.  Once they are blended, dry the paper with a heat tool.  Because distress inks are always reactive with water, even when dried, I spattered the paper with water droplets.  Let the water sit on the paper for a minute, then blot with a dry paper towel.

Die cut the bird from Licorice cardstock using the Birds of a Feather die set.  Sponge over the bird die cut with Versa Ink and sprinkle Gold embossing powder over the inked die cut.  Use a head tool to set the embossing powder.

The branches were die cut from Kraft cardstock using the Woodland Branch die.  The branches were inked slightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  Stamp the Not Knowing sentiment in the bottom left hand corner of the watercolor panel.  Add a twine bow and flower to the bird and assemble the card as shown.  Spatter the card with Gold acrylic paint.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Have a great weekend!
