Here's a way to use the Santa Paws Die and coordinating stamp set with Plush Folk Hearts - in February! Hi and Happy Friday - Jean Okimoto here with something a little different today. I don't usually post 'family' photos here on Outside the Box - but this picture of chocolate Taffy and beige Sage makes us laugh whenever we see it. I hope it brings a smile to your face too!
Taffy does have eyes - they match her fur and are very deep-set, so you don't see them here. She's the happiest dog on earth - even wags her tail during her frequent timeouts. Sage is the rescued princess who doesn't smile very much, especially when she's being used as an armrest.
The January 2016 Collection has so many great hearts it's hard to decide which one to use - they're great for baby, birthday, wedding and anniversary cards too!
Stamp the cocker spaniel - from the Santa Paws Clear Stamp Set - on kraft cardstock with VersaFine Onyx Black. Heat-set the ink, then color it with a pink Peerless Watercolors and a white watercolor pencil. Cut it with the coordinating die from the multi-tasking Santa Paws Die Set.
Attach adhesive label paper behind red and pink felt. The paper stabilizes the felt and prevents liquid adhesives from soaking through. Cut the red felt heart and the flowers. Stitch the heart and tie double-stranded knots on the flowers.
Cut the photo and another heart from natural cardstock.
Attach everything to a side-folded A-2 card of natural cardstock - use foam dots for the left side of the dog. Attach pink sequins.
We'll make a a quick scalloped candy pocket using the Plush Folk Hearts set next time. It's a "why didn't I think of this sooner?" type of project! Thanks for stopping by today - see you next week, or at the So Many Hearts class at Impress on Saturday.
