Hello!
The weather has finally taken on a Spring-like feel, and I am anxious to see flowers, and the lovely butterflies that come with them. In the meantime, I will have to settle for these lovely die cuts. I chose a couple of different butterfly dies for my card today, let's take a look!
For this very clean and simple card, I wanted to do a tone-on-tone effect with the lovely butterflies from the Butterfly Ensemble die set. There are such a great selection of sizes in this set, and I used most of them. I die cut a bunch of them and adhered them to my white card base. I then left a few open areas to place my colored ones.
I chose a medium size butterfly die, and applied some ink to each using a foam applicator. I also sprayed on a bit of white paint to give them some texture. I then took an outline die cut from the Rylan Butterfly Stem set, and coated them in glitter. Once they dried, I attached just the centers to my colored die cuts.
I lifted the wings a bit to add dimension, and brushed away and stray glitter bits. Tone-on-tone die cuts are a great way to create a clean and simple design, while still getting a lot of impact!
Thank you so much for stopping in today! I hope you give this technique a try!
