I've got pumpkins on my mind...and growing in my garden!
The challenge this week is to keep the woodchuck from eating everything that pokes over the low fence.
I just had to use HARVEST PUMPKIN OVAL FRAME die no. 99525 and PLUMP PUMPKIN die no.99521 for my cards today, two of the newest dies from the 2016 Holiday Release. And the perfect background for my first card features the new FALLING MAPLE stencil.
I inked up the stencil on smooth white cardstock first using Hero Arts Fresh Peach ink and adding Butter Bar ink using a fingertip dauber. This was sooo much fun that I repeated the process numerous times on different cardstock and using different ink combinations...lots of backgrounds ready now for other fall-themed cards.
Here's the first card:
I layered a stenciled piece on bright orange cardstock cut to fit the front of a White A2 card (5.5X4.25"). I cut the two pumpkin dies from bright orange cardstock and then cut them again from Key Lime Distressed Dot paper to get the leaf and the curly stem to layer on. I daubed on a little Hero Arts Fresh Peach ink on the edges of the pumpkin pieces. I also cut an oval layer from Mango Distressed Dots paper which fit exactly under the pumpkin oval, using a glue pen to hold them together. I used a foam dot to pop up the tiny pumpkin. I finished off the card with some key lime ribbon tied in a bow. There's plenty of room to add a sentiment inside the Mango oval later.
For the second card, I die cut a larger oval as the base layer for adhering everything to a Key Lime notecard.
And then I made two more cards, even simpler, using black cardstock as the base.
So much fun! Using these dies, stencil, inks, and papers reminds me of my favorite time of year when my pumpkins will be ready for picking, carving, and cooking! Happy Crafting!
