In cleaning out one box or bin or another in my craft room this week I unearthed a package of Funky Accordion Fold cards that inspired this post. There are several tutorials on-line for creating your own Funky Accordion Fold cards. The ones I found in my stash are pre-cut and pre-scored which made this a pretty speedy project. This form in black cardstock seemed the ideal base for a series of fall/Halloween-themed creations.
Card One
Remember that stack of stenciled papers I made a few weeks back? This card form provided lots of options for trimming those pieces to fit the various rectangles before adding the die cut images.
Materials Used:
- FALLING MAPLE STENCIL 88608; Hero Arts Butter Bar, Fresh Peach, and Raspberry Jam inks; white cardstock
- DELICATE WEB STENCIL 88610; Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink; white cardstock
- LOVELY OAK STENCIL 88607; Hero Arts Butter Bar and Fresh Peach inks; white cardstock
- BIG AND SMALL SPIDERS die 99546; black cardstock; black gems for heads
- HARVEST PUMPKIN OVAL FRAME die 99525; orange cardstock; use just the large pumpkin; sponge on some Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink for stem and edges
- PLUMP PUMPKIN die 99521; orange cardstock; sponge on some Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink for stem and edges
- FOREST CLEARING OVAL FRAME die 99482: black cardstock; cut in half, one piece for each of the tall end sections; mounted on Squash Distressed Dots paper
- 1" circle punch for moon cut from orange cardstock
This is what the card looks like lying flat:
And it all folds up into a standard A2 size (4.25X5.5)!
Card Two
Additional Materials Used:
- GRACEFUL BRANCH OVAL die 99465; black cardstock against Licorice Distressed Dots paper on the tall end sections behind the two pumpkins
- BOTANICAL STEM die 99088; black cardstock
And here it is folded for mailing:
For Card Three, I had a piece of 12X12 Memory Box Halloween-y paper that I'd been saving that I cut and used for all of the backgrounds:
Additional Materials Used:
- FOREST OVAL FRAME die 99497; black cardstock; cut in half and used on the two tall sections
- EVERGREEN WINDOW die 99505; black cardstock
And folded up:
A find like this reminds me that there are lots of different card forms that I can use. And the stenciled pieces on the first two cards tie into this month's challenge!
Happy Crafting!
