These "dear deer" are all decked out for Valentine's Day. Don't you just love the bold lime and fuschia color combination? The new Pixie Papers have arrived at a store near you and they are colorful, fun and inspiring...and so are the new Valentine Delights stamps.
This gate-fold card using Dear Friends (D1442) was colored with Copic Markers ( E71,35 and YR24) and edged in Tsukineko's Gingerbread ink. I find myself using Gingebread ink often as it gives a "toasted" look the the paper's cut edge.
I added a little silk ribbon to the front of the card and tucked the ends into the layers of cardstock. I also punched a 1" circle out of patterned paper, folded it in half and wrapped it around the crease in the gate-fold doors.
In order to see the lime green inside the card, I took the notecard and reverse folded it. It didn't matter that the front was now white because I covered it with the plaid paper panels. This paper was so fun and bold that I had to make a necktie to match. Quite dapper don't you think?
As for the inside of the card...
I used the very versatile Valentine Duo stamp (B1424) which has the sweet little heart on the end of the wood mount. Bonus!
The weekend is upon us and I hope you find time to create some wonderful cards for Valentine's Day. Surprise someone with a handcrafted card --you'll both feel good about it!
P.S. On a personal note...My newest grandson was born on New Year's Eve (2 weeks early!) and we are over-joyed with this sweet new addition to the family. His name is Caleb James and he is the first-born to my first born. Isn't he cute?
