From the inside looking out you'd think spring has finally arrived here on the East Coast - not so! Step outside and you'll quickly realize that it may be sunny but it is COLD! I think I even heard the "snow" word in today's forecast. Luckily spring has arrived with the new Memory Box stamps from the Spring Symphony collection.
This card is just as deceptive as our weather! At first glance it looks like a simple little card layered with papers and Washi tape. Then give a little tug on the inside card and this is what you get...
A 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of distressed dot paper was used to create a envelope that holds the inside greeting. A band of yellow was wrapped around the envelope and adhered in place. For a "pop" of spring color, strips of orange and green Washi Tape were placed along the left side of the yellow band.
Using the Stand of Trees stamp and Peeled Paint Distress Ink, just the top of the trees were stamped along the bottom of the white square. The solid flowers were added using Victorian Velvet Distress ink and the spiral flowers were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Last, but not least, the little bees were added and colored with yellow and black Prisma pencils. They were given little dotted lines of motion with a Copic black fine line pen.
The sentiment was stamped on white Neenah paper which was cut into a label shape using the Nestability Labels 8 die. This was then adhered to a 4" x 4 1/4" pie
Holes were punched through both layers at the top of the open end of the envelope using a standard hole punch. Thread white grosgrain ribbon through the hole in the front of the envelope. Slide the pink card into the envelope, making sure the ribbon also slides into the envelope with the excess ribbon lying along the back of the pink card. Once the pink card is completely inserted into the envelope, thread the excess ribbon through the hole at the back of the envelope. Bring the ribbon ends together and tie in a bow.
