Hello everyone!  Today's card fits into this month's challenge, "May Flowers".

I used a resist technique to create this card. It's an old technique that I forgot about and thought it would be fun to revisit it.

I sponged Distress Oxide Inks to white cardstock and blended the colors.

I used a heat tool to completely dry the ink on my background. It's very important to do this step so that the embossing powder in the next step doesn't stick to your whole background. I used an embossing buddy and rubbed over my whole background so the the embossing powder only sticks to my stamped image. If you don't have an embossing buddy you could brush over the background with baby powder or cornstarch.

I inked my stamp with Versa Mark ink, stamped the background and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Next I sponged Faded Jeans Distress Ink over the whole background. The embossed image resists the ink and reveals the lighter colors under the embossed image. I used a tissue to wipe any excess ink from the embossed image. I spattered the background with plain water to add some interest to the background.

I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of vellum and adhered it to my card front.  Next I die cut the word Hugs from glitter cardstock and glued that to the card. I adhered my card front to a white cardbase and added some glass baubbles to finish the card.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
