It's the Fabulous Phlox Photo frame! Say that 3 times fast.
Welcome to the Memory Box Blog Blitz, where all the designers gang up this week to show off the new stamps and dies. My choice? The Fabulous Phlox die~
This flower is one I was not too familiar with so I did a little internet research and found this lovely:
Dozens of color varieties turned up in my search and my favorite was the purple and white with a dark center.
To start, die cut several flowers and use a paint brush to apply the pigment ink onto the individual flower centers, let dry then curve the petals to form the flower.
For the stamen, working on top of my mouse pad, I firmly pressed my pen into the center. Then add a drop of glue into the flower center and carefully push the stamen down into the glue. Hold in place until set.
A tiny bit of Fabric-Tac glue (or a hot glue gun would work) easily holds the flower in place while building the cluster. Start in the corner with the larger flowers and taper the sizes out to the ends. Add a small bloom to the inside corner for fullness. Phlox grow in clusters. Add the greenery as you go--it's easier than tucking it in at the end.
There you go--all finished. Add your favorite photo and enjoy!
I think this would make a nice gift and you could make a complementary card to give with the frame.
Hope you're enjoying the new dies and stamps...would you like to win one? Leave a comment on any of our posts this week and you may become the lucky owner of a new Memory Box die!
Come back to check out the next post tomorrow morning with Linda!
