Greetings Crafty Friends!
I hope your week has gone well so far--with the weekend upon us and the weather wreaking havoc in many parts of the country let's think about spending time indoors--I'll be making more cards for Halloween, like this one...
I made the mansion look extra spooky by inking around the moon with white pigment ink on navy colored paper. Determine where the moon looks best then flip it over before inking around the edges--you don't want to get white ink on the moon.
After sponging the white pigment ink, repeat with a blue ink for a deep "glow". Flip the moon circle over and ink the edges with a bit of orange ink for a harvest moon effect. Let the pigment inks dry then assemble the card. A little white and blue ink sponged onto the tops of the fence, roof and tree also add to the "glow" in this scene. I let the front door hang open to show its great detail.
Here's the inside of this card---you know I like to finish the insides!
The Forest Crows were a little too tall for this card so I trimmed the crow at the top and added him "airborne" like he's coming in for a landing.
The "Happy Halloween" letters are individual pieces so a T-ruler came in handy to align them in a straight row. A nice feature of the "Happy Halloween" letter dies is the fact that they are arranged on 2 dies (in the same package) with every-other letter on one die, then the alternating letters are on the second die. This way, its easy to use one die to cut black paper and the other die to cut purple as I have done, to get alternating colors for each word.
I couldn't resist cutting the ghosts from white shimmer paper and letting them float out the open windows into the dark night under the moon.
Can you tell I'm ready for Fall?
I hope you have a great weekend--we will be trying to keep cool here. Thank you for stopping by today!
Happy Friday,
