Hello everyone!
Today I have a clean and simple card for you featuring one of the new dies from the spring release.
To make the card I die cut the Sailboat Circle Frame from watercolor paper. I did not use the sky portion of the die cut. The water, boat and sails were all colored with distress oxide inks.
The card front is watercolor paper that I sponged with Distress Oxide Ink. I started sponging the ink from the center outward, having my darkest color in the center and fading the color as it went out to the edge of the paper. I misted the Smash stencil with plain water and then placed the stencil, water side down, onto the inked watercolor paper. I placed a piece of paper towel on top of the stencil and lightly pressed it down. Leave this in place for a minute or so and then lift off the stencil. I used a heat tool to dry the paper. Once the paper is dry you see a soft look where the water on the stencil removed some of the ink.
To assemble the card I glued the Sailboat Circle Frame die elements to the card front, and stamped the sentiment on a black strip of cardstock, and adhered that to the card. I adhered the card front to a black cardstock mat, which I then glued to a white card base.
To finish off the card I used a black marker to add some details to the boat and water.
I hope you enjoyed today's card!
Have a great day!
