Autumn Sunset

When designing this collection, Dave included options for making Halloween as well as fall cards.  For this sample, I created an autumn card.  Isn't it nice to have options.

Hope you'll try your hand at making a fall scene.  Here are the instructions:

Wet the watercolor paper and apply watercolors from the top edge as follows: red, red orange, orange yellow orange, yellow, and ending with gray.  Set panel aside to dry.  When dry, stamp Web and Willows twice with black ink and emboss with clear powder.  Using a foam marshmallow (it also works if you're trying to create a moon) first ink up and stamp with white pigment ink where you want your sun to be setting.  Next ink up another foam marshmallow with yellow pearlescent ink and stamp over top the white circle to create your sun.  Highlight the spider web with a Starlight clear gel pen.  Sponge edges of panel with Pumice Stone ink.  Layer panel over top a rectangle of 6x6 Nightfall patterned paper and attach to a Dove Gray note card.

Supplies:

  • F1799 Web and Willows
  • 6x6 Nightfall paper
  • Dove Gray note card
  • Watercolor paper
  • Watercolors
  • Colorbox Blackbird chalk ink
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Distress Pumice Stone ink
  • Brilliance Pearlescent Yellow ink
  • Foam marshmallow
  • Sakura clear Starlight gel pen

I hope all of you are enjoying the new samples as much as I'm having fun playing with the new stamps, paper and dies from the What's in the Box collection.  If you get the chance, please sign up for one of my upcoming classes at Baas Junction in Toledo, Ohio.  I'd love to meet you.

Thanks for looking!
