While organizing my work desk I realized I hadn't inked up this adorable Dotty Tree (D1347) stamp yet. Imagine that?! It's been a favorite of mine since it was released, but I just never got around to creating anything with it - until today! I paired it with Leafy Branch (C1361) and the new Evening Roost paper to create a festive fall card.
With my Scor-pal, I used Evening Roost 12 x 12 paper to create a tri-fold card (4 x 12, scored at 3.5in and 8.5in from the left.) I stamped Dotty Tree with Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate onto a piece of Eggshell notecard punched with the Pink Marvy Circle, and matted it onto Chocolate shimmer paper punched with the Marvy Purple Scallop. I colored the image with Prisma pencils, popped up one bird and added Glossy Accents to the leaves. This layer overhangs the front third of the card and was adhered with foam tape for a little dimension. I added a small strip of pattern paper from the new Blackbird 6x6 paper pack and laid this neat leaf ribbon (EX98) from May Arts down the side of the card.
The inside fold has a layer of Eggshell notecard; corners have been stamped with the Leafy Branch in Brilliance Pearlescent Rust. There is also room for a greeting, but I will leave that for later. I like to keep cards like this blank until I need to use them. You just never know- it may end up as a Thank You note, a Thinking of You card or perhaps a fall Birthday greeting.
I'll be teaching this card and several others on Wed, Oct 6th at Ink About It in Westford, MA. This class will feature fall and Halloween card designs.
I do love Autumn, but let's continue enjoying our beautiful summer weather. Thanks for stopping by the blog.
Have a nice week.
